Living near the water is great, except for what it does to the outside of your house. Salt air, humidity, and shade from live oaks give algae and mildew everything they need. Within a year or two a light-colored house starts to look green on one side and gray on the other.
How we wash a house
We soft wash. That means a low-pressure pump, a cleaning solution mixed for the surface we’re on, and a lot of rinsing. High pressure on siding forces water behind the boards, strips paint, and tears screens. With soft washing the solution breaks down the algae, mold, and mildew, and a gentle rinse carries it off.
The job covers siding, stucco, brick, trim, soffits, the outside faces of gutters, and window screens. We rinse the windows too, so you’re not left with spots.
What we check before we start
Every house is a little different. Before we turn on a pump we walk the property and look at:
- Siding material and the condition of the paint or finish
- Window screens, door seals, and anything that should not get wet
- Plants and beds against the house, which get wet down and covered as needed
- Outlets, lights, and cameras that need a quick bag
Why hire a pro instead of renting a machine
A rental pressure washer from the hardware store has one setting, and it is the wrong one for a house. We see the results all the time: stripes on the siding, water in the walls, and a job that ate a full weekend. Our rigs meter the solution, and washing houses on the Beaches is what we do every day.
What to expect on the day
We call before we head your way. You don’t have to be home, but we need the exterior spigots on and the gates unlocked. A typical two-story home of about 2,100 square feet takes around two hours. Porches, cedar shake, and prep add time: we tape off outlets, cover ceiling fans, and wet down cedar shake before we wash around it.
If the roof is streaked too, ask about adding a roof cleaning. Doing both in one visit saves a trip.

- Removes green algae, black mildew, and salt haze from siding and stucco
- Low pressure, so paint, caulk, and screens stay intact
- Cleaning solution keeps growth from coming back as fast
- Windows and screens rinsed as part of the job
